The Nash Central High School Class of 1964 held its 45th class reunion on Aug. 28 and 29.
Highlights of the 1960s weekend were going to downtown Nashville and touring the buildings of the former Nash Central High School (presently W.L. Green Alternative School).
For some alumni, it had been 45 years since they had visited Nashville and the old high school campus where they had attended classes.
On Saturday afternoon, the class invited members of the community to attend a workshop at the Rocky Mount DoubleTree Hotel conducted by a classmate.
George Westry lectured on the needs for wills, advance directives and financial power of attorney.
Carlton Gray, funeral director and licensed mortician, presented information on preplanning. This event was well attended.
On that Saturday night, four of the former educators attended the reunion banquet and provided the alumni with some words of wisdom.
The visiting educators were Katherine Lucas, Vera Mann, Rosa Brodie and Bobby Dunn.
Also in attendance was Dr. John Avent, president of Nash Central Senior High Alumni Association.
